Qualifications

  • The University of Limerick, in Sport and Exercise Science in 2000 

  • Academic scholarship in physiology - Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) working with Gold Medal athletes in rowing, swimming and cycling along with the Australian Football Team. 

  • Masters in Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy

  • Diploma in Acupuncture (AACP)

 

About Rachel

 

Rachel Disley has run her own physiotherapy practice in Penarth since February 2018, providing a high standard of care for all clients. 

Using a range of physiotherapy techniques for:

  • Sports injuries

  • Muscle and joint pain

  • Women’s health. 

 

Always tailoring programmes that suit your favourite activities.

 

With over 15 years of physiotherapy experience at the top level, treatment plans are quickly put into place and the most appropriate route to recovery is identified.

 

Before this Rachel worked in the Nuffield Cardiff Bay Hospital as the Senior Physiotherapist for Musculoskeletal physiotherapy with special interests in Sports Injuries and Women’s Health.

 

  Rachel has successfully treated Olympic and Commonwealth athletes for many years following a year working in the Australian Institute of Sport. Rachel uses both her Exercise Physiology and MSc Physiotherapy background to provide individualised goal centred rehabilitation and prevention programmes for each client.

Rachel is chairwoman, U18 coach and is the eldest player for Penarth Ladies Hockey Club 1st Team ( by a long way) in the English Hockey League.  She also plays tennis and golf at Penarth Windsor and Royal Porthcawl GC.
